Reviews

  • This site is a real treasure for lovers of all things Roman. Although it is small compared to some other English Heritage sites it is well worth a visit and the lady in the museum/shop was very interesting and knowledgeable.
The museum has a good collection of pottery and coins as well as 'household' and 'personal items' associated with a Romano British town.
Two mosaic floors are in separate buildings on the site and are very well preserved.
The two section of Roman walls are also interesting but the guide book is needed to understand exactly what you are looking at.
The only down side was the limited access for the less able as there are steps up to the site from the village street and parking is limited.
