Always a Warm Welcome

The Tennant's Arms is a traditional country pub with boutique hotel rooms. We are situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in the beautiful village of Kilnsey, nestled beneath Kilnsey Crag with spectacular views over the Dales countryside. The pub was once an important coaching stop on the busy route from Richmond to London and retains much of it?s authentic rustic charm.

Come and celebrate your Special days with us in our beautiful oak function room which can provide seating for 20 and is perfect for private family parties.

It's a place to take time out and relax, enjoy a pint in passing, take delight in a pub meal or stay over in one of our boutique rooms. We are not far from local market towns, Grassington, Skipton & Bolton Abbey with easy access to all the activities and attractions that the Dales have to offer. We aim to provide quality, home cooked, locally sourced British food, a good range of local cask ales and fine wines all served with the warmest of Yorkshire hospitality. We have a great beer garden for those summer afternoons and evenings and cosy real fires to warm you in the colder months.

  • My partner and myself spent two days/nights at this Hotel , Our room was very clean and comfortable . We ate in the Oak walled room both nights of our stay which was really nice and the food was excellent. The bar was nice to finish off with a nite cap after a good meal . Hoping to visit again in the near future . Chris and Pete the owners are really friendly and as this is a new venture for them they seem to be doing a good job of it . We wish them all the best .

  • We were travelling through the area after visiting Grassington and came upon this little gem. The Tennant Arms which stands in a beautiful position overlooking fields full of sheep and cows with Kilnsey Crag just around the corner....a great place to base yourselves to visit the surrounding attractions of Hawes, Aysgarth Falls and beyond.
We decided to stop by for some lunch as it was such a beautiful view and our dog was welcomed too. Plenty of choice of where to sit...at the side there are tables and a grassed area or out front next to the road or inside....but as it was beautiful weather we chose outside by the road overlooking the fields...(the road isn't that busy)....we had a warm welcome and our pooch was well fussed which was nice....we ordered our lunch and went outside where our food was brought out to us a short time later.... have to say our food was very good indeed....good portions and tasted great....we all ate different things from sandwiches to burgers to my mother in law who had the risotto (best she has ever had she said, and she is very picky).....so I can't fault this place....great little find...the staff were very friendly and showed us around the hotel side.....the rooms are very nice and not too pricey for such a nice setting....all in all well worth a visit.

  • We visited here last weekend and were very pleased with our experience. The pub is set in a lovely location with plenty to keep the outdoor enthusiasts happy. The food was exceptional. A good choice of real ale was also a bonus! The rooms were of good quality as was the breakfast. The new owners have only been there a few months and it is obvious they are working hard to enhance the reputation of the pub. Ian Battarbee

  • Brilliant weekend break. Good value on the wowcher. They are new owners of the hotel, but everything was up to scratch and then some. Our room was Saltfaire which is apparently one of the smallest but it was very roomy and the bathroom was a good size.
We ate at the hotel both nights, and that is not usual for us, normally we have the first night and then the second night eat out somewhere else. However the food was of such a good standard, tasty, well cooked, and nicely presented that we ate at the hotel both nights.
The owners are very friendly, helpful, and willing to assist in any way they can - with whatever they can.
The hotel is right next to Kilnsey Crag so there are spectacular views, and plenty of scope for good walking.
Would not hesitate to recommend the hotel and food to anyone.

  • Absolutely superb food, well cooked, well presented. Delicious. Good beer. Pub full of character - really old but spotlessly clean. Couldn't fault it. We'll do be Tennants arms, will come again. This pub is next to Kilnsey Crag, ideal for walkers. Fabulous spot. Lizziej4

  • A typical country pub with dogs allowed, just what we wanted. Clean, warm and friendly the hotel is in a perfect location for walking or visiting local towns. If a warm welcome and good food is what you're looking for this is the place to be. GEWELL
