Discover Holidays in Skipsea
If you like quiet breaks with scenic walks and beautiful views then the peaceful seaside village of Skipsea is perfect for you. Its rural, picturesque location is reflected by the main industries here: tourism and farming. Skipsea Castle is the main visitor attraction in the area; built in 1086 it is a Norman Motte and Bailey castle – one of very few to survive in England. Unfortunately, today all that is left is an ancient grass mound but still the site maintains its reputation as a key component of Yorkshire’s heritage. Whilst in Skipsea, sample a delicious, award-winning ice cream from Mr Moo’s Ice Cream Parlour, all ice cream hand-made on site. Only that day’s fresh milk and cream is used to provide over 30 flavours of scrumptious dairy ice cream. Skipsea has reasonable road links from the A165 and is situated close to Bridlington and Hornsea.
