Discover Holidays in Flamborough/Bempton

Flamborough is situated on the east coast of the Yorkshire Wolds and forms one of the most impressive coastlines in the North.  The main attraction of the coastline is the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs; it has the largest concentration of breeding seabirds on the English mainlan where there are puffins, gannets, kittiwakes and guillemot, all nestling on the very steep cliff faces 90m above sea level.  Walks on the cliff tops are a good way to see the birds, particularly during the breeding season (see the RSPB website for details).During the summer sight seeing cruises from Filey and Bridlington visit the cliffs and caves around Flamborough and also offer fishing trips. There is an old lighthouse in Flamborough where the village originally got its name from and it stands close to the new lighthouse where parking is available to view the impressive buildings and the coastline. The castle and church are located more centrally in the village where there are public houses offering bed and breakfast and restaurants. The village shops include a chemist, florist and betting shop. Self-catering accommodation is available in Flamborough and Bempton; there are holiday parks where you can take your own caravan or stay in a chalet or holiday home and holiday cottages offering luxury accommodation for up to 7 people. Bed and breakfasts are plentiful together with hotels and pubs. Bridlington is only 4.5 miles south-west of Flamborough and Scarborough is 21 miles north-west. Flamborough is accessible by the B1255 from Bridlington and the A165 from Filey.
