  • Wonderful Accommodation and Location - Again!
Booked the High Barn for a family birthday celebration for 12 and once again enjoyed the wonderful accommodation provided by Broadgate Farm. We have stayed here before in a different cottage with a smaller party and the same attention to detail and comfort is evident in all the cottages.
Elaine was very helpful throughout - we contacted to see if we could arrive a little earlier to avoid the Friday weekend road traffic and she was very helpful allowing us to turn up about an hour earlier.

The underfloor heating in January was much appreciated and there was no need to use the very stylish log burner.
We utilised one of the personal Chef Dine Indulge for the birthday dinner which was very successful and the kitchen facilities were ideal to support the service and appreciated by all.

Great break and recommended as a nice place to enjoy a stylish break.

  • Fantastic New Year Stay
We arranged a family 5 day get together over the New Year, family came from Australia, North East England, Northumberland and Norfolk, 22 adults and 4 children. We stayed in 3 of the cottages, The High Barn, The Cart House and The Stables. During the booking process and the fact that we were a big party, Elaine the owner, was very helpful and accommodating even when I had to contact her a few times to make changes to our booking over the months leading up to our stay, nothing was too much trouble. Elaine greeted us on arrival, she went through some of the features of the cottages and how the heating worked. All of the properties has underfloor heating, we found this heating method sufficient therefore we did not make use of the log burners situated in all of the cottages. Each property was tastefully decorated and very comfortable, everything was provided for our stay from towels to luxurious bedding, the kitchens were fully equipped with everything needed for our stay. Every member of the party commented on how great the properties were and there location. The whole 5 days were a great success. Thank you to Elaine for our fantastic stay.

  • Amazing stay
We stayed for a week immediately prior to Christmas in the Granary and had an amazing time. We arrived in the evening to a warm cottage thanks to the underfloor heating which is throughout the cottage. A Christmas tree in the lounge added to the festive atmosphere. Parking was immediately outside the door. In the morning we awoke to see the sheep in the next field and the hens. A glorious sight. The cottage is immaculate, beds are soooo comfy, rooms are spacious yet cozy. Elaine was a delightful host and we arrived to a welcoming basket of goodies. Certainly one of the best self catering cottages we have stayed in. We attended the carols concert at Walkington pond and had a ball. Broadgate Cottages are close to historic Beverley which is a delightful town and also close to Hull which is a much more modern place. We shall certainly be back to stay on a future trip to Yorkshire.

  • Great place....Go!!
I visited with a group of friends, and it really was 'wow' when we walked in. We had the Cart House, and it was perfect. Very spacious, high spec and above all very comfortable with a really lovely welcome box of goodies to greet us. Each bedroom had a fabulous bathroom. It was one of those situations where we had arrived in the dark, and had all the fun of discovering the views on awakening. Our floor length windows looked straight onto a field of sheep , and watching them at such close quarters was a real delight. The country views are very attractive and there are lots of walks from the house. We used the garden as the weather was lovely for the time of year , comfortably seating eight around the table. We took advantage of the ' my personal sanctuary' package and all agreed that we must have more massage, reflexology etc in our lives.

As for the surrounding area, there is just so much to do we really needed a week. We managed Beverley Minster ( stunning), the Ferens art gallery in Hull ( hosting the Turner prize and this year is fabulous). We also visited The Wilberforce Museum, The Streetlife Museum ( all free!!!!) and walked on the Humber Bridge. This is breathtaking. I wanted to go to Burton Agnes which is an extraordinary house and which is home to a wonderful art collection and gardens and York is about half an hour away too. Nearby we ate at The Pipe and Glass....yum. Am I going on too much?

This house would be amazing for celebrations. If you hired out the whole complex you could have a whale of a time in the huge lounge kitchen dining room of the Cart House.
