  • We have visited on a number of occasions and each time the accommodation and surroundings are excellent. Julie and Yvonne are most welcoming and the attention to detail second to none. Small things are seen to that you wouldn't find at many other places. I can't speak too highly of the breakfasts with the quality and range of choice. We only recommend Foxholm to special friends in case it gets too popular and we can't get in!! brian goldthorp, doncaster

  • My husbands second visit and my first however definately not our last. The welcome and hospitality was second to none and our room was inviting and extremely comfortable with the added bonus of a private lounge. Our breakfast was without doubt one of the best and well cooked and with plenty of choices. Foxholm is like finding a hidden gem and as much as you want to shout about it from the roof tops there is a part of you that wants to keep it a secret so it is exclusive to you! However that aside Yvonne & Julie deserve to be noticed & acknowledged for making Foxholm the outstanding B & B that it is Thank you Kay & Paul, Hanworth Middx

  • The B&B is in a very small village, Sawdon, which is about 7 miles from Scarborough. There is one pub / restaurant to eat at in walking distance (the Anvil Inn) of the B&B.
From the moment we made our booking and when we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Julie and her sister. They showed us round our lovely room (Malindi) and then offered us a hot drink and a scone which was lovely touch. The Malindi room was lovely, really clean and fresh looking with great facilities. It was all the nice touches which made it extra special with water and wine glasses, a bottle opener, fresh milk, bottled water, fresh fruit and a great varied selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate’s. There was also a proper hairdryer which you don’t get in many posh hotels. The bathroom was lovely with a bath with a powerful shower over it. The location of the B&B means it is really peaceful with lovely views across the immaculate garden.

We ate in the Anvil Inn across the road which was fantastic, one of the best meals we have had in a while. Please be aware you do need to book, for a Saturday night we booked a week in advance and got the last table. It’s a lovely pub / restaurant – really quaint with good service.

In the morning we had great breakfast and there were plenty of hot options to choose from which I liked. I had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs (yummy) and my husband had the cooked breakfast, he said the poached eggs were perfect. Julie and her sister we attentive but not over bearing and the bowl of fresh berries on our breakfast table was a nice touch.

There are only three rooms at the B&B and two of them share a lounge so it would make a perfect base for a group of friends or family to stay over at. The information on their website and in the room is extremely useful, giving an in-depth guide of where to eat and what to do in the local area. Just be aware they don’t take cards so you need to pay by cheque, Bacs or cash which is no problem as long as you know.

We had a lovely stay and only wished we could have stayed longer. There is nothing at all to fault at the Foxholm, it is really lovely and well thought out and makes a relaxing base for a break. We would love to go back.

  • A truly wonderful B&B. A one night stay that needed to last longer! From start to finish the welcome was warm and the food was perfection. Home made scones and jam to the best cooked breakfast and delicious pancakes.
The room was fabulous and the bed so so comfy. You couldn't ask for more.

  • Well just read the reviews, this place is a real find if there ever was perfection this is it,
at one stage myself and my son thought we were at home that's how they make you feel.
My only concern is telling too many people how good this b&b is, so won't get a chance to re-book as it will always be fully booked. Breakfast was just perfect with such a good choice, the amenties on offer are first class including the most comfy bed.
    Can't wait to return

  • A lovely warm welcome after a long days hike on the Cleveland Way. The tea & cake were perfect. Accommodation superb and no steps to climb. A delightful sitting room to relax in. Extensive choice of breakfast cooked to perfection, served in the conservatory overlooking the beautiful garden. Our first stay at Foxholm and so looking forward to the next. Tracy Hannam, Bingley

  • What a little gem this place turned out to be, located in a pretty part of Sawdon. A comfortable, relaxing few days where we were made to feel very welcome. The bedroom and bathroom en suite were clean and nicely decorated. Very comfortable beds with fresh cotton sheets. Guests have the use of a separate private lounge. The breakfast was amazing. We opted for the continental breakfast which had a good selection of cheese/ham and breads/coissants etc. Really fresh fruit and homemade marmelade. We would highly recommend staying at this charming B&B! AP Gerty, Lutterworth

  • FoxHolme feels like home from home. We have stayed with Julie & Yvonne several times and will visit them again. As we step through the door a warm welcoming atmosphere envelopes us. The rooms have a restful theme and with the peace and quiet ensure we have a good nights sleep. Julie & Yvonne always have plenty of suggestions, when asked, of places to go and things to do. However Julie and Yvonne between them they manage the difficult trick of being welcoming but not intrusive. We went as visitors and left as friends. I am pleased that people are getting to know and appreciate what they provide but sorry that the secret is out. John & Lesley

  • Just returned home after a second stay at Foxholm (22 November 2010). This bed and breakfast is high quality, the accomodation is clean, modern and comfortable. The breakfast is not to be missed, nor the wonderful cakes. The proprietors Julie and Yvonne are friendly, knowledgable about the area and oh soooooo helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We have no hesitation in recommending this B&B, we will be going back!!!! Sylvia & Clive Mole, Birmingham

  • High quality bed & breakfast with comfortable rooms and great facilities. The guest lounge was a great extra space to have after a long day cycling. Breakfasts were fantastic. Hosts were extremely welcoming and it is a great base for outdoor activities. MH, Edinburgh

  • Just completed our second visit at the Foxholm. A relaxed and friendly environment set in a beautiful Yorkshire village. My wife requires a gluten free diet - this was catered for - including cake!! with afternoon tea. The breakfast choice was extensive, with the full English, using local produce, not to be missed. The accommodation being well equipped, comfortable and homely; along with entertaining hosts, makes this more than the average B & B. David & Glynis Wagg, Barton Seagrave, Northants
