Townend Farm is a large grand farmhouse which is decorated and furnished to an exceptionally high standard. We are located at the gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, with many wonderful features and benefits from stunning countryside views. You will receive a very warm and friendly welcome on your arrival and a hearty breakfast to set you up for your days exploring the surrounding area.

Since starting our Bed and Breakfast in 2007 we have received over this time many Awards for our food, service and hospitality, our most recent being in the Visit England prestigious 4 Star GOLD award granted in December 2016. The GOLD Award is presented for exceptional quality of accommodation, customer service and hospitality, we are proud to hold the Breakfast Award from Visit England as the UK Hotel - Bed & Breakfast awarding body, this compliments our Gold grade and 4* awards, so you can be assured of a great quality breakfast experience having stayed in our well appointed ensuite bedrooms.

  • One nighter

The rooms were tastefully finished with lots of little extras one would expect when staying in a 4 star hotel... such as Molton Brown hand soap, shampoo and conditioner. The owners were just so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble .... I was even able to alter my booking by a day and add on a room due to a change in our circumstances. Breakfast was lovely all freshly cooked. Thank you to Julie for a really comfortable stay. Excellent service and accomadation

  • Great farmstay B&B on edge of North York Moors

Very comfortable stay close to the North York Moors. Spotless accommodation, great breakfast and friendly, helpful service. Dinner choices nearby a bit limited but more variety a short drive away. Farmstay B&B doesn't get much better than this.

  • Fantastic

Just returned home from a 2 night stay at this lovely b&b we arrived slightly earlier than planned but our room was ready and we were made welcome by Ian. The room was tastefully decorated, immaculately clean and larger than most b&b 's we have stayed in. The bathroom was also really spacious and had everything we needed, shower gels, hand wash, dressing gowns etc. After a great nights sleep we were met by Julie in the dining room for breakfast which was exceptional. We had a choice of fruit juice, cereal, fruit, yoghurt and followed by a full English breakfast and toast which was all cooked perfectly and set us up for the day. We will definitely recommend and hope to return next year Julie and Ian made us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble.

  • Top Class Townend

Spotless, well-appointed room, generous breakfasts and exceptional attention by hosts Julie & Iain. Ideal for both coastal and moors areas of national park with bus stop at gate and quiet, friendly country pub serving good food opposite. We stayed 3 nights and our car never moved from the B & B as all-day tickets on X4 bus let us hop on and off at any point between Middlesbrough and Whitby.
