Sedbergh
Home > Sedbergh | Sedbergh nestles in the foothills of the magnificent Howgill Fells in the north western corner of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Well known for its public school founded in 1525 and its numerous art galleries it is surrounded by magnificent countrysdie. The town is a joy to wander around in the summer and it sparkles in the winter. |
| Sedbergh became a Book Town in 2001. This means it has brought together a great number of bookshops, writers and publishers in the area to dwell here, making it a haven for every book enthusiast. Primarily it focuses on selling second-hand books, but it also welcomes printing, publishing and the writing of new books. At the moment there are nine bookshops in Sedbergh and close-by. |
| There are many walks around the glorious countryside and pony trekking is very popular here too. Sedbergh has its own 9 hole golf course, often described as one of the most interesting nine hole golf courses in the country. There are many bed and breakfasts in the town with pubs offering a friendly place to stay and guest housesthat exceed your needs. There are holiday cottages providing self-catering accommodation in and outside of the town and camping and caravan sites too. As mentioned before Sedbergh has great road links; it is very close to the M6, just off junction 37. |
