Home > Scotch Corner | The name Scotch Corner comes from the point where travellers to eastern Scotland would separate from travellers to western Scotland. The site of the original Roman intersection is a few hundred yards away from where it is today. The Battle of Scotch Corner is where the Romans took control of the north when they defeated the Brigantes, a northern Celtic tribe. |
| Located on the A1, north east of Richmond and south of Darlington, Scotch Corner is a good place to catch your breath if planning on visiting the Moors or Dales for a day. |
